Description

The Town Hall of 1547 combines the tradition of Gothic and Renaissance styles. It is characterized by its campanile and toothed gables. The bear fountain, also called ''Stockbrunnen'', has an octagonal basin, dated 1543. The 1559 shaft, carved with crenellations and twists, ends with the representation of a face surmounted by a bear holding a purse. The Nartz vault is a medieval-style house built by the clog maker Alexandre Sermonet, who came from Savoy after the Thirty Years' War. The space reserved for the gable on the square is limited but compensated by the height of the construction.
