The Holy Spirit Monastery , also known as the Monastery of the Sisters of Steyl, is a convent of originally German-speaking nuns in the monastery village of Steyl in the Dutch municipality of Venlo. Built in 1914, the convent is the motherhouse of the Congregation of Servants of the Holy Spirit of Perpetual Adoration, usually referred to as "Castle Sisters" or "Adoration Sisters of Steyl", founded on the site in 1896. The complex is located on the river Maas and consists of the monastery proper, the monastery chapel and a number of outbuildings, including a monastery farm. It is surrounded by a monastery garden of approximately one and a half hectares. A total of twelve parts of the monastery complex located within the protected village of Steyl are protected as national monuments.
