Nivon Koos Vorrinkhuis

In the middle of the country, just outside the village of Lage Vuursche in the province of Utrecht, stands the Koos Vorrinkhuis in the forest. This is one of the 13 Nivon Friends of Nature houses in the Netherlands.

Friends of Nature House

A Nivon Friends of Nature House offers a simple and casual stay based on self-care. For this you have one of the 100 beds and a large kitchen at your disposal, In the Koos Vorrinkhuis there are also three living rooms in the form of rooms with terraces. The houses are maintained by volunteers.
The house is also a popular group accommodation. Meetings, school weeks, courses and family reunions are organized, with or without overnight stays. The house is open all year round.

Stay

Thanks to the concept of self-care, you are in control of the costs of your stay. It means that you take care of your own meals, make your own bed and leave your room clean. If you want to eat outdoors, you can too. In Lage Vuursche there are restaurants and pancake houses. You cannot get food in the village. The house itself sells a small basic range of foodstuffs.

Environment

The friends of nature house is located in a forest just outside the village. On the private grounds, children will find many fun things such as playground equipment, climbing trees, many branches and other forest attributes. The house itself has a play cellar. The surrounding area is very suitable for hiking and cycling. The Nivon Migratory Bird Trail (LAW-3) runs past the house and in the immediate vicinity you will find cycling (junction) routes.

Hilversum, Amersfoort and Utrecht are within cycling distance. Nearby you will find forests, heaths. peatlands with lakes and a polder landscape. Nearby are several attractions such as Sound and Vision (Mediapark) in Hilversum, Amersfoort Zoo, Soestdijk Palace and the National Military Museum Soesterberg. At 3 kilometers is a large climbing forest with several climbing courses high in the trees.
