Fuussekaul - Mëchelbaach

We did this beautiful nature walk on 01.11.2023. During this hike you will see different markings, other hikes that you can just ignore.

The departure is from the Fuussekaul campsite in Heiderscheid.

We drove the road counterclockwise. This leads to a dirt road through a wooded area and then behind campsite De Reenert. This road leads to the N15, which you cross to follow a paved road. Just before the path enters the forest completely, we turn left to enter the valley of a periodic stream. This stream feeds a number of ponds before flowing into a sewage treatment plant, which you will pass a little later. The purified water is then found in the Mechelbaach.

Once at the bottom, turn left into the beautiful Mechelbaach valley. The valley is a beautiful piece of protected nature. After 2.5 km, turn left onto a steep path and then return through the forest to the Fuussekaul campsite.
