San Gimignano has 16 towers. These towers are: Campanile della Collegiata, Torri degli Ardinghelli, Torre dei Becci, Torre Campatelli, Torre Chigi, Torre dei Cugnanesi, Torre del Diavolo, Torre Ficherelli or Ficarelli, Torre Grossa, Torre di Palazzo Pellari, Casa-torre Pesciolini, Torre Pettini , Torre Rognosa, Torri dei Salvucci.
In some texts the number of towers is reduced from 16 to 14: in general the bell tower of the Collegiate Church and the Pesciolini House tower are removed from the count, which have different characteristics from the others.
