The Torre Guinigi is one of the landmark towers in Lucca. In particular, the old oaks that grow on top of the forty-five high tower provide its characteristic appearance. The tower was built by the Guinigi family who planted these trees on the roof as a symbol of rebirth. The tower is now owned by the city of Lucca. He can be visited. From the tower you have a beautiful view over the city and its many monuments. You do have to climb the 230 stairs.
