This is the third day of the bike ride along the Hadrian Wall and Wainwright's Coast to Coast route. The low budget route goes from campsite to campsite. The section along the Hadrian Wall follows National Cycle Route 72 to Carlisle. After Carlisle, the track curves towards St. Bees, the starting point of Wainwrights coast to coast from the Irish Sea to the North Sea. This coast to coast route is originally a hiking trail. I have tried to include bike paths and quiet roads that are as close to the walking route as possible.

This day a short route. Only at the end, from Whitehaven, it becomes quite hilly.
Pay close attention from and after waypoint 17. If you miss the exit, the bike path to Workington and Whitehaven is very difficult to find.
Just after Seaton you can already see the Irish Sea. Whitehaven is worth a visit. In the colored buildings you will find good restaurants and tearooms. Whitehaven is the starting point of the C2C route. The C2C monument can be found at the harbor. People who drive the C2C route dip their front wheel in the Irish Sea here. Please note: seawater is not good for the rims. From Whitehaven to St Bees is fairly tough.
The seacote campsite is definitely not equipped for hikers and Bikers. You can seek refuge in the corresponding hotel
Dip your shoe or front wheel in the Irish Sea and pick up a pebble from the beach. You take that stone with you to throw in Robin Hoods Bay in the North Sea.

Take care: bicycles don't like seawater.
From Whitehaven to St. Bees there are some tough hills to climb. The Seacote campsite is absolutely not accomodated for hikers and bikers. You can find shelter in the Hotel that is a part of the seacote park.
