Description

Dorothy Tennant, a Welsh artist, married the explorer Sir Henry Morton Stanley in Westminster Abbey. Some sources say that on the wedding night he told Morton that 'sex fit only beasts' and that the marriage was never 'consummated'. They adopted a child.
