The Florentine Singer on the Place St Nizier is a work by Paul Dubois , a sculptor and painter who was born in Nogent-Sur-Seine in 1829 and died in Paris in 1905. He was one of the most prominent artists of the late 19th century.
This sculpture, made after his trip to Italy, was awarded a medal of honor at the Salon de Paris in 1863 and is considered an important work that combines realistic detail with delicacy and elegance of form.
A copy in gilded bronze is on permanent display at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
