The Friends of the Old Country Museum is located in the partly restored medieval castle of Dieulouard. It presents the Gallo-Roman remains of the site of Scarpone and the reconstitution of a small Gallo-Roman tiled burial cemetery. The great Roman road from Lyon to Trier via Metz, crossed the Moselle at Dieulouard, the ancient Scarpone. This settlement on the low alluvial terrace was divided into islands, connected by stone and wooden bridges and remained in the High Middle Ages a strategic place to cross the Moselle. - Open every Sunday from March to November (14h/18h) - Guided tours for groups (min. 10 people) by appointment.
