To the south-east of Niort and the Marais Poitevin, Celles-sur-Belle is a charming village with a fine architectural heritage and a beautiful landscape marked by the river "La Belle" which invites you to go for long walks. Lovers of heritage will be charmed by its famous 12th century abbey, a major cultural venue hosting exhibitions, academies and music festivals. You should stroll through its beautiful French gardens or discover the collection of old motorcycles Pierre Certain.
Since 2013, the town has been awarded the label "Ville en poésie" (City of poetry) in recognition of its efforts to put poetry at the heart of local cultural life. The Poetic Walk allows you to combine a walk and a reading of a poem through a heritage trail in the village.
