Halles de Charroux

Description

Make a stop in the small city of character of Charroux, in the south of the Vienne department.
The covered market of this village is worth a visit! Classified since 1948, they are among the largest in western France with their three naves and eleven bays. Dating from the 16th century, they were built on a former cemetery. The pavement and the 50 pillars that support the chestnut roofing are of the period. They are still used for annual markets.
