The cemetery is the military square reserved for the graves of those who died for France in 1870 on the territory of the commune of Floing and its outskirts. In the axis of the entrance is the large stele with 16 steles distributed along the back wall. Those who climb the slopes that lead from the church of Floing to this cemetery and the plateau du Terme may have a double reaction when walking: to the happiness of seeing a magnificent landscape, most often follows the impression of reliving the bloody ordeal of a few thousand heroic horsemen who, at the end of a lost battle, sacrificed themselves to save their honour. In less than two hours, on the afternoon of September 1, 1870, launched into hallucinating cavalry charges, more than a thousand of them fell struck by the intense fire of the enemy skirmishers who managed to take position in close ranks on the hillside of Le Terme.
