The Parc des Luxembourg was the former pleasure park of the Counts of Ligny-en-Barrois. By the 14th century, the park was already offering young Pierre de Luxembourg peace and quiet. Its "L" shape has remained unchanged since the beginning. Covering 8 hectares, it is bordered by the waters of the Ornain river.
The cannon tower, 40 m in diameter, formed the southern corner of the castle rampart. Its layout is still visible, and large rubble stones attest to its age.
Purchased by the town of Ligny-en-Barrois in 1794, it was classified as a Historic Monument in 1932.
