The primitive mill is mentioned in the XVIIth century. It was moved stone by stone with its mechanisms to be rebuilt identically on the hillock of Boisse less subjected to the lightning! It has been listed in the Inventory of Historic Monuments since 1979 and is the reference for mills of the Quercy region
The history of the last millers is well known and is told by the mill's animators
The animation is managed by the association of the Friends of the Mills of Boisse and the Canton of Castelnau-Montratier; group visits, on request, at the Tourist Office of Castelnau-Montratier. The AMBC runs 4 windmills a year with milling demonstrations, followed by guided tours.
