The voie du piémont passes through the heart of the Béarnaise village of Mifaget, towards the Way of St. James. Mifaget church is right on this route.
Built by Gaston IV in 1114, it is dedicated to St Michael, archangel protector of pilgrims. Its originality lies in its crypt that has a calotte dome dug under the apse. It can be visited free of charge and can be accompanied by audio commentary inside.
