The village of Le Bugue, at the gateway to the Vézère, opens up the Vallée de l'Homme.
Crossed by the Vézère, Le Bugue is situated in an amphitheatre on the slope of a hill. For more than 8 centuries, the village has been famous for its market which is held on Tuesday mornings. The atmosphere and the products on offer make it the place to be!
The village is home to one of the Palaeolithic decorated caves in the Vézère valley: the Bara-Bahau cave.
It is also THE family destination par excellence!
Discover the largest private freshwater aquarium in Europe: the Aquarium du Périgord Noir. The prehistoric maze invites you to become explorers in search of the last Cro-Magnon and you can also cross the ages and go back to 1900, in the Parc du Bournat.
Mountain biking and hiking, 2 loops and 3 paths are available from Le Bugue.
