This is a kilometre marking ( Borne) of the 'Voie de la Liberté', constructed in 1948 as a lasting memory of the liberation of Europe.
The route connects Normandy with the battle of the bulge at Bastogne. The complete route is at Routeyou incorporated as motor route named 'Voie de la Liberté' and as bicycle route with extension to Netherlands (Wageningen) in ten parts called VDLAV (voie de la Liberté a velo).
