Furniture: three white marble and stucco altars around the choir. Funerary monument of 1628 against the south exterior wall.AMAGNEA church, witness to the history of the villageClassified as a "Historic Monument" in 1910, the church of Saint Martin d'Amagne is the only ancient building in the commune. The diversity of its architecture, the richness of its sculptures and its exterior and interior decorations make it a remarkable and singular monument, a true work of art.Started in the 12th century, the construction of the present church continued, in successive stages, until the 20th century. These stages testify to the more or less important parish life as well as to the attachment of the inhabitants to their place of worship and their religion. The author, Claude Metzger, retraces these stages of construction, transformation and enlargement of the church in the pages of this book, placing them in the context of parish and community life. The last part presents a description of the church at the beginning of the XXIst century.224 pages with more than 160 illustrations Format 17x24cm20€
