This park is located on the banks of the Guadalquivir River as it flows through the Isla de la Cartuja.
It covers the entire area behind the Pavilion of the Future and is bordered to the south by the former IOC Pavilion and to the north by the American Garden.
This park has not been maintained since the closure of "Cartuja. El Parque de los Descubrimientos" in 1995, until the city government took over its repair and maintenance and it was reopened in March 2011.
Nowadays the gardens are part of the Isla Mágica theme park , just like the Pavilion of the Future.
The garden, which mimics the Arabic style , was divided into 14 sectors with different themes, each with different plant species.
In addition, in this garden there are some sculptures that have also been restored, as well as the Banesto watchtower, which is in a slight state of abandonment because it has not been used for several years (2024) and its operation is doubted.
