The Church of the Divine Shepherdess is a Catholic monastery .
It was inhabited by the Capuchin Fathers , which is why the monastery was popularly called "Convento de Capuchinos" .
Although the Capuchins arrived in Jerez in 1661 , the current monastery was not built until the 20th century.
The monastery has a strong connection with the two brotherhoods of Setmana Santa that it hosts: Confraria de la Defensa and Santa Mortaja.
