This is the first of the defensive complexes that can be found in the city going from south to north, a small fortress that could defend a large part of the city against a possible attack from the sea.
It was a military building with a gun platform on the wall and was built in 1676; It faces the Atlantic Ocean to the north of the city of Cadiz, next to the Porta de la Caleta.
In 1990 it became a restaurant .
