La Font de Puentezuela, as the nearby street is called , was the center of activity, where women fetched water and farmers stopped to water their animals.

The catch of fish that had arrived in the market place that day was announced at the fountain, the council announcements were read ("de parte del Mr. Alcalde se hace saber...") and the posters of the bullfighting fair took place. Next to the fountain, on every important day of the year, the chapel held a special parade that gathered residents of the adjacent streets.
