The monument to the writer Ángel Ganivet (1865-1898) stands on the central path of the Alhambra forest, in front of the tomato fountain.
The sculptural ensemble, symbolizing man's constant struggle to dominate nature , consists of a stone bust of Ángel Ganivet. On the base is written "Aan Ganivet" under a half-opened pomegranate.
Before her stands a bronze figure of a naked athlete defiantly grabbing a goat by the horns, symbolizing the dominance of intelligence over the irrational. A jet of water comes out of the goat's mouth and falls into a pond.
The work of Juan Cristóbal was inaugurated in 1921.
