It is a 16th century slaughterhouse and market.
Designed by Francisco del Castillo with a Mannerist style facade of Italian origin. It uses columns with padded shafts surmounted in the center by a curved triangular pediment topped by pyramids on a sphere. The building has a square plan with a central courtyard, with semi-circular arched galleries on large rustic stone columns and towers at the corners .
A beautiful spiral stone staircase leads to the lower level, which was used for slaughtering cattle.
