Zur Burg Rabenstein, Falknerei und Sophienhöhle

From Bischof-Nausea-Platz in the direction of Rathaus I, before the town hall turn left over the bridge. Follow the riverside path and sculpture path downstream past the Hammermühle to the Pulvermühle. After the inn, turn left into Wassertal. Straight ahead at the junction. Cross the road Waischenfeld – Oberailsfeld and continue in the direction of Rabenstein Castle. After the small meadow, turn right as far as a fork in the field paths, go straight on here and turn right at the next field path. This path leads directly in front of Rabenstein Castle.

Walk back a little and along the falconry fence to Sophienhütte.

Take the steps downhill, past Sophienhütte (a visit is recommended) to the junction of the lower staircase. Go straight ahead and up again to the Schweinsberg viewpoint. Follow the road uphill for approx. 200 m. At the crossroads (Marterl) turn right onto a field path. Turn left at the first junction onto a narrow meadow path, then straight ahead in the direction of Einödhof Sauerhof. Pass this on a wide country lane. At the junction, turn left towards Hannberg. Through the village and at the end stay on the asphalt road for another 250 meters, then straight ahead, not following the road, onto an asphalt field path. Pass a small chapel. At the edge of the forest, go straight on downhill. At a fork in the path, turn left downhill. You soon reach Waischenfeld. The hike continues through the suburb to the starting point.
