Schanzgrabenweg

From the hiking board by the church, we walk along Siegmund-Adam-Straße towards the upper part of the vacation resort of Warzenried. Immediately at the Böhmerwald hotel complex, the hiking trail turns left into a narrow tarred road. Passing the hotel complex and several properties, this road joins Lehmgrubenstraße. We walk up Lehmgrubenstraße on the right for approx. 150 m until we reach the last property. There is also a water discharge shaft at this point. Here we turn left onto a field path. In front of us we see a wooded area which we will soon reach. We walk along the so-called "Schanzgraben" (the ramparts used to secure the border can still be seen here and there), a forest path, until we reach a tarred road with little traffic. The Ek7 hiking trail runs to the right along the Schanzweg and turns right onto Böhmerwaldstraße approx. 100 m before the border; the partner municipality of Všeruby is in sight here. We walk along the border strip on the Šumava road for approx. 1.5 km until we turn right onto a forest road. Here we go straight ahead and then come to the Lehmgrubenstraße. We return via Siegmund-Adam-Straße, past the Böhmerwald hotel complex, to the starting point at the church square in Warzenried.
