Von Weyarn nach Miesbach

From the starting point in Weyarn, we first follow the footpath along the main road until we reach Stürzlham. Here we turn right onto a gravel path and approach the Mangfall valley. We descend via a small path, cross the Mangfall and soon reach a wide gravel path (also the cycle path from Holzkirchen to Bayrischzell with corresponding signage), which we follow to the left, past an interesting work of art and onto a tarred road. We continue to follow the signs for the cycle path from Holzkirchen to Bayrischzell, past the building yard of the waterworks and along a wide, beautiful path through the Mangfall valley. Before branching off to the right, crossing the railroad line and continuing on to Miesbach, it is worth making a short detour to the moated castle (do not take the turn-off but continue straight ahead on the tarred road, 5 minutes from here). The path now leads us further along the railroad line, under the aqueduct that channels parts of the Mangfall and Schlierach water into the Seehamer See for later power generation. Shortly before we reach the Miesbach sewage treatment plant, we leave the valley again and walk up to the left on a gravel path to Gut Wallenburg. We soon reach Miesbach along Wallenburgerstraße and the avenue.
For the way back, you can either take the RVO bus or the BOB train (with the latter option, you have to get off in Darching and take another 15-minute walk back to Weyarn under the Mangfall bridge).
