Cycle route German Timber-Frame Road | Stage western route

The western route stage is part of the German Half-Timbered House Route. From the northern town of Eberbach in the Rhein-Neckar district, via Bietigheim-Bissingen, to Sasbachwalden in the Ortenau district, this section encompasses the magnificent nature of the Black Forest.

Today, it is the unique historical panorama of many towns and communities in Baden-Württemberg that defines it: the half-timbered construction. Along the popular German Half-Timbered House Route, you will find very well-preserved half-timbered buildings. The western route covers approximately 350km and impresses with highlights such as Eberbach, Calw, and Sasbachwalden.

On the other hand, the middle route, which also describes the main route, covers around 350km and impresses with highlights such as Eberbach, Bietigheim-Bissingen, and Meersburg.

As a counterpart, there is also the eastern route. It leads from the northern town of Eberbach in the Rhein-Neckar district, via Schorndorf in the heart of the Rems-Murr district, to Meersburg on the northern shore of the Swabian Sea, Lake Constance.

The Neckar Valley/Black Forest stage is also part of the German Half-Timbered House Route. The route leads from Bietigheim-Bissingen, via Bad Urach in the Swabian Alb, to Calw.

The Neckar Valley/Swabian Alb stage, in turn, leads from Bietigheim-Bissingen, via Blaubeuren in the Alb-Donau district, to Riedlingen on the southern edge of the Swabian Alb.
