Bike-Arena Sauerland - Around Kallenhardt Nr. 40

The route takes you through the forests of Rüthen, Brilon, and Kallenhardt. Highlights include the natural monument "Hohler Stein" and the heath landscape on the way back.

Starting from the church in Kallenhardt, the route passes by the primary school and the historical town hall, heading west along Burgtorstraße and then downhill towards Schloss Körtlinghausen. A detour is worthwhile. However, the tour turns right before that towards the valley of Glenne, leading through agricultural paths up to the so-called "Eulenspiegel". From there, after crossing L 776, the route heads south along the elevations of Kalvarienberg. Crossing Glenne Valley again, it ascends about 30 meters until the path turns right, following the elevations of Sudlindenkopf and Brilonscher Kopf. After a hairpin turn, the path descends briefly along a stream. At the underpass of L 776, the route turns west, ascending into Kallenhardt forest along a tributary valley. After passing the source area, the path turns north towards the edge of the forest, following it west towards the nature reserve "Hoher Stein". At the edge of the beautiful juniper heath, the culturally significant natural monument "Hohler Stein" awaits the bikers. By bypassing the limestone quarries, you will soon return to Kallenhardt.
