Country land cycle route

The tour takes you up to 534 meters above sea level and promises a pure nature experience with panoramic views of fields, meadows, and mountains. Simply follow the green logo of the "Bauernland-Radroute" and enjoy the rural tranquility. Gentle rolling hills and many small half-timbered villages characterize the landscape of this picturesque tour.
A panoramic board at the rest hut in Herschede provides an overview of the Sauerland mountain ranges. At this point, you can see both the Hunau mountain range with the television tower and the Rothaargebirge. Both mountain ranges converge at the Astenturm tower, which you can see in good weather. With some luck, you may spot all the Sauerland bird hunters in the air above you, namely the Red Kite, the Buzzard, and the Kestrel. Enjoy this unique nature experience with your own refreshments during a break.
From Schmallenberg-Mailar, follow the SauerlandRadring, partly along old railway tracks, back to Schmallenberg.
