From the parking lot below the castle ruins, you follow a well-paved forest path in an easterly direction, which is signposted with No. 26. It leads around the Kalkrosenberg, if you always go to the right. The location name Kalkrosenberg is a modification of Kalkröste-Berg (from burning lime). Presumably, once here, limestone was processed into a versatile building material using one of the oldest and still most important production methods. If you still have time after this short distance, you can enjoy the view of the city area next door or take on one of the other routes that start at the hiking car park in Lichtenberg.
