The municipality of Wagenfeld with its districts Wagenfeld and Ströhen is located in the midst of the idyllic Diepholz Moor Lowlands, in the DümmerWeserLand and in the Dümmer Nature Park. The majority of today's municipality of Wagenfeld belonged to Hesse until the beginning of the 19th century. Wagenfeld was ruled from the Auburg located on the Aue, which can still be visited today. Just as many legends revolve around the "Auburger" as around the extensive moor areas around Wagenfeld. While the cycling tour "Legendary Wagenfeld" leads to a total of 12 legend sites, the new "Crane Tour" connects the Dümmer Lake with the moor worlds in Ströhen. Both tours have one thing in common: they run through an inspiring landscape!
