Between Fürstenwalde and Erkner, the Spree shows you from its most beautiful side. Again and again you will discover small resting places and idyllic views of the leisurely flowing Spree. On this one-way late riser tour you are guaranteed to get into the flow.

From the cathedral city of Fürstenwalde into nature
Your late riser tour starts at Fürstenwalde train station and you follow the Spreeradweg, which leads to Berlin. If you like, take the Schlenker to St. Mary's Cathedral with you. Then you go straight into nature and you cycle relaxed and easy through a lot of forest, along the water and in beautiful nature.
Hidden Spree Pearls
There are always small detours along the way directly to the river. There are also beautiful spots in Hangelsberg. We have marked the little hideaways on the Müggelspree as highlights on the route at Komoot. Cool off your feet, go for a swim or be amazed at what the beaver has nibbled on here in the idyllic meadow landscape by the river.
A particularly nice place for a break is the Mönchwinkel bivouac site directly on the Spree, where you can legally pitch your tent for a night. From the striking wooden bridge you can watch how the water plants in the clear river water move back and forth in the leisurely current - that is real flow.
Holly's sheet cake is a hit
Your tour continues past meadows and forests. In Hartmannsdorf, Doris Hollnagel, who is mainly known to racing cyclists, invites you to a coffee break with cake. The operator of Holly's gallery café welcomes locals and cyclists to feast and chat together. Their pieces of cake are the size of half a baking tray, are outrageously tasty and enjoy cult status. Although Doris hardly sees anything, she bakes a huge variety almost every day with a lot of love and devotion - you can even get a vegan and gluten-free cake variant here.
Sundowner at the Dämeritzsee
Shortly before the end of your late riser tour, you will come back to the beautiful Müggelspree at the Jägerbude campsite and in the Erkner-Hohenbinde district. Finally we go to Erkner, where the tour ends at the train station and the train takes you back to the big city. And if you still have a lot of grain left, you can continue on the Spreeradweg to Berlin. However, our recommendation is to enjoy the sunset over the Dämeritzsee. You've earned the delicious sundowner in the Erkner bathing bar!
Plan your late riser bike tour along the Müggelspree now!
