Description

Stage 1
From Zell via Schwarzenbach a. d. Saale to Hof. Through the Saale meadows to the Hofer Saale Bridge. Through the Theresienstein citizen park along the Saale out of town.

Stage 2
Through hilly landscape to Fattigsmühle, then to Joditz and Untertiefengrün. Past Rudolphstein Castle into the valley, further towards Pottiga. Downhill to Blankenberg, ascent in Blankenstein.

Stage 3
From Blankenstein through the Thuringian Slate Mountains along the Saale reservoirs. Via Harra and through the Lemnitzhammer railway viaduct along the shore of the Bleiloch reservoir to Saaldorf. Continuing towards Saalburg, via Gräfenwarth to Burgk. From Walsburg to Ziegenrück.

Stage 4
To Paska, then descent to Linkenmühle. The mill ferry takes you across to Altenroth. Further to the Hohenwarte dam, then to Kaulsdorf.

Stage 5
From Saalfeld to Rudolstadt. From Rudolstadt past Weißenburg to the rafting village of Uhlstädt. Further on to Freienorla towards Leuchtenburg and the historic old town of Kahla. Then to the university town of Jena.

Stage 6
From Jena via the Kunitzer Hausbrücke to Dornburg. From there towards the wine village of Kaatschen. Past the Saale castles Saaleck and Rudelsburg to the spa town of Bad Kösen and further to Naumburg.

Stage 7
From Naumburg towards Schönburg, then to Weißenfels and from there to the service station Bad Dürrenber, from there to Halle.

Stage 8
Through the nature park Unteres Saaletal past Wettin towards Alsleben. Through the floodplain forest between Plötzkau and Bernburg, the latter is the stage destination.

Stage 9
To the destination in Barby. Via Wedlitz and Wispitz to Tippelskirchen and Gottesgnaden towards Calbe. Through the meadow via Trabitz towards Groß Rosenburg. Cross over from Groß Rosenburg with the Gier ferry. Further to Barby or to Schönebeck - the train station offers an ideal connection to the railway traffic.

Bike repair station on the Saaleradweg in Halle (Saale)

On the Palatinate shore there is a red tool column where you can find tools for quick repairs, an air pump with adapter valves for various tire and wheel types, as well as a tourist cycling map. Using a mounting bracket, you can easily repair your bike at a convenient working height with seven different tools in common sizes*, such as changing a hose, pumping air, or tightening loose parts.
If you ever need to patch a tire, you can get tire repair kits at the gastronomy facilities on the Palatinate shore.

*The tool set consists of a screwdriver, an Allen key set, a TORX key, an adjustable and adjustable wrench, pliers, and a tire lever.
