Description

Stage 1
From Zell via Schwarzenbach a. d. Saale to Hof. Through the Saale meadows to the Hofer Saale Bridge. Through the Theresienstein citizen park along the Saale out of town.

Stage 2
Through hilly landscape to Fattigsmühle, then to Joditz and Untertiefengrün. Past Rudolphstein Castle into the valley, further towards Pottiga. Downhill to Blankenberg, ascent in Blankenstein.

Stage 3
From Blankenstein through the Thuringian Slate Mountains along the Saale reservoirs. Via Harra and through the Lemnitzhammer railway viaduct along the shore of the Bleiloch reservoir to Saaldorf. Continuing towards Saalburg, via Gräfenwarth to Burgk. From Walsburg to Ziegenrück.

Stage 4
To Paska, then descent to Linkenmühle. The mill ferry takes you across to Altenroth. Further to the Hohenwarte dam, then to Kaulsdorf.
