Heidenkopf Runde

Past the pigeon house, the optical telegraph and the Heidenkopf tower: a moderately difficult circular tour with sweeping views of the Bliesgau landscape and interesting sights such as the Brudermannsfeld along the way.

On this hike, there are plenty of exciting places to discover as well as sweeping views of the landscape! The start is in Gräfinthal, the place of pilgrimage in the Mandelbach Valley. There is plenty to marvel at here: the monastery, the dovecote and the natural stage. On the first ascent, you walk past a dry stone wall - typical of the Bliesgau. This is home to numerous beetles, lizards and other animals. The Brudermannsfeld is located on the hill between Gräfinthal and Bebelsheim. The associated legend is described on an information board on site. The trail also leads past various farms and the optical telegraph. The highlight is definitely the Heidenkopf Tower: the 12-metre-high observation tower offers an incredible view of the Vosges Mountains and the Palatinate Forest. It's definitely worth the climb! The last section of the tour leads through a beautiful avenue, which provides the perfect finish.</p
