Von Illmensee zur Birnau am Bodensee

Varied cycle tour from Illmensee through the Deggenhausertal valley to Lake Constance. If you would like to start the tour at Lake Constance and cycle to Illmensee, you should be a well-trained cyclist or, alternatively, be on a Pedelac / e-bike.

It is best to take a whole day for this tour and enjoy the ride through the hilly, varied landscape to the full. Particular attractions along the route include the idyllic lake in Illmensee (starting point of the tour), the unique Affenberg Salem and the two impressive historical sites, the castle and former monastery of Salem and the Birnau monastery church (baroque jewel on Lake Constance). The view from Birnau over the lake and, on a clear day, the Alps is certainly unforgettable.
