The former Rosau mill is located in the Lower Rhine town of Rees, north of the district of Esserden and south of Bienen.
In earlier times, the tower served as a defensive tower and was the official residence of Drosten the Counts of Cleves for about 100 years. Later, until the 18th century, the tower functioned as a windmill. Today, the tower is a ruin. The roof hood and wings are missing. Little remains of the castle complex. The building has been included in the list of land and monuments.
