Description by the author

With this route you will explore the north west of the region, from Neder-Over-Heembeek and Laken (Laeken) to the centre of Brussels and Schaarbeek (Schaerbeek). Centuries of urban development take you through the hearts of old villages, areas of social housing, motorways, but also along peaceful cycle paths and green areas. You will cycle past remnants of the city’s rich history – going from the 12th-century tower to the Atomium. Discover how Brussels’ municipalities have evolved and how changing mobility has left its mark on the urban landscape.
