Head to the 16th century castle of Rijkel 1. With the castle on your right and the church on your left, you begin. At the intersection with the OudRycklen café and a chapel, turn right. You cross the Molenstraat between fields and orchards to a crossroads with a patch of grass in the middle. Here you turn left and climb through a hollow road to the Roman stone road (no sign). Turn left (towards bike exit 169) and immediately right, on a narrow concrete road between fields and orchards, with beautiful views. Don't worry about side roads and walk along a large orchard. The road becomes hollow and you pass the cemetery and a new orchard to Groot-Gelmen. Leave the Sleeweg on the right and follow the Steendaalstraat after the Groot-Gelmen agglomeration sign to the end. Just left and at the chapel on the right in the Groot-Gelmenlaan, direction church. At the fork, you ignore TRIL, keep right and continue downhill. The church is at the top left of you. At the next crossroads, choose the right again and enter KleinGelmenstraat. Then take the Bosstraat on the right. You walk between a low-stemmed orchard and a high-stem orchard. The road becomes hollow and climbs. Upstairs you have a beautiful view of the surroundings. Ignore a road to the right and turn left at the fork. Ignore all secondary roads and descend between orchards to a concrete road. On the right you see the church of Klein-Gelmen. Turn left and at the end next to the house with No. 6b in a narrow path. It is actually a half-hollow path with an orchard on the left and a poem by Boudewijn Knevels, the fruit poet from Haspengouw. When the path stops being hollow, continue walking along a path of pebble grass. First along a field, then along an orchard. You turn left with the path and walk between an orchard and a water treatment plant. Past the poem Ripe Fruit by Boudewijn Knevels, turn right and arrive on a concrete road. Right. You pass The Mettecoven Molen, the Mettekoven nameplate and ignore the Schildstraat on the right. Go further towards the church with a beautiful square on the right. Turn left immediately after the church on the dirt road. There will also be a walk with an orange sphere. After a right turn, the path splits. Choose the left and walk further through a sasje with two doors. Dogs must be kept on a leash here. It climbs firmly and after a turn you climb a few steps. Then it continues quite flat and you pass a watchtower. Again by two gates and further on a narrow path and bridge. Immediately after, you pass two new doors and he goes up again. At the edge of the forest, you are at the highest point. Walk and walk along a sasje in a large orchard. No doubt: cherry trees according to the poem. Continue walking with the orange sphere and you will come to a road with two strips of concrete and a strip of clinker in the middle. Left. Ignore a cul-de-sac on the right and continue to the 13th century Helshoven 2 chapel. Turn right at Helshovenstraat. After the nameplate in Hoepertingen and the inn De Kluizenaar, turn left into Helshovenstraat 14. Follow the ascending road to the end at the T. Here turn right into the gravel road. It quickly turns into a hollow road. Ignore a concrete road on the right and turn left at the crossroads, direction 170 for cyclists. After the hollow road, you walk between the orchards again. Turn right onto Grunen Hoek and a little further left onto Rooi Stiejeg. This gravel road takes you to the football field. Just before, take the Dref on the left until you start point.
