The belvedere has a total height of 31m60 and is located at a height of 385m and rises 180m above the river .
The highest platform is reached after a climb of 161 steps and offers an exceptional panorama .
The Belvédère can be reached via a steep path directly from Bouillon, or via a circular, less steep road that is much less steep and can also be done by car.
To ensure its safety , the Château de Bouillon needed relays both during the day and at night. The spiers of the plateau's churches , such as those of Bertrix or Paliseul, played this role. At the top of the old road of France, the windmill could receive messages from beyond the Meuse in Sedan.
The Bouillon watchtower could therefore receive signals from all directions.
