In 1731 the Palace Op de Coudenberg, where since the 13th century the rulers of Bourgondy, Brabant, Spain and Austria had reigned, burned down. On the 24th of December 1654 Queen Christina of Sweden converted here secretly to the Roman Catholic Faith. The celebration took place in the private chapel of Archeduc Leopold Wilhelm of Austria. Nowadays you find here the Belvue Museum.
