This Neo-Romanesque chapel is located on a ridge and replaces a chapel from 1770. A famous pilgrimage site from the 16th century. In 1956, Pastor Claus had the large Maria chapel built on the hilltop on the Echel. Once past the chapel, along the Pollaarse footpaths, the magnificent panorama of the village, the Dender valley and the hills of the Flemish Ardennes unfolds. This panorama is part of the protected villagescape. Both the Sint-Kristoffelkerk and this sister church can be visited freely as an "open church".
