With an area of 850 hectares, the Regional Forest of Ravels is the largest contiguous forest area in Flanders. It was built between 1906 and 1930. Previously, this wild heathland was with a fen here and there. It is wonderful to walk and cycle along the stately avenues. Want to know more about life in the forest? Then be sure to step into the Boshuis visitor centre. Here you will find a permanent exhibition about the origin and history of this regional forest. There is also a hands-on exhibition for children.
