The Asselkouter route winds through Munte and Baaigem, two villages of about 600 souls. Peace, quiet and natural beauty are the service here. The landscape is gently sloping, with here and there a short, steeper slope. On one of those slopes along the trail rises a natural spring. If we get thirsty along the way, we'd better quench it in one of the ancient inns.
