Bois les Dames walk
Enjoy a unique walk where you will explore a savannah landscape that’ll take your breath away! This walk, which alternates forest with calaminarian grasslands, will reveal to you a rare phenomenon: the vegetation’s extensive adaptation due to the depositing of zinc and lead dust on the soil. The dust originates from the handling of these minerals by the former Prayon metalworking factory, which is no longer standing. Depart from la Maison Sauveur, where the first Chaudfontaine baths were given in 1676, by a certain Simon Sauveur. This country man had the idea of using the various sources that spring up on the banks of the Vesdre for therapeutic purposes. It was the origin of the spa that’s well known today!
