Information board at the entrance of the Schans van Bosbeek.

In 1911, two redoubts were built in Sint-Katelijne-Waver in unreinforced concrete: the redoubt of Dorpveld and the redoubt of Bosbeek on the Bosbeekweg. They were part of the outer fortification belt around Antwerp. The redoubt of Dorpveld would defend the gap with the fort of Sint-Katelijne-Waver and that of Bosbeek the area up to the fort of Koningshooikt. In 1998, the Bosbeek redoubt was protected as a monument. The ramp is privately owned and not accessible.
