So-called Hof d'Intere, after Ambrosius de Dynter who received Wechelderzande as a fief in 1444, see municipal introduction. The current appearance dates back to 1649 when the 16th-century castle was rebuilt by Johan de Proost, then lord of Wechelderzande; in 1686 it became the property of the parish priest of Wechelderzande; Repairs were carried out on several occasions, including a design by J. Van Gastel from 1867, until 1964 in use as a presbytery; since 1977 it has been the town hall and since the merger with Lille it has been used as a municipal centre with a library and park.
