Brabant square farmhouse
Formerly fenced farmhouse that once depended on the castle of the same name now disappeared, and divided into several properties. There is already a mention of a farm in Ruisbeek in 1319. It became the property of the Vander Noot family at the beginning of the 16th century, also behind the construction of the castle; sold to Count Furstenberg, the farm was acquired by F. Lambrechts in 1614; it changed ownership again in the 18th century, the castle fell into ruin during the French Revolution and was then demolished.
Today, the original buildings arranged around a practically square inner courtyard have been extensively renovated. However, part of it is abandoned and threatens to fall into ruin. To the west, the porch covered with a mansard pavilion roof (artificial slates) dates from the 18th century; semi-circular sandstone door with a worked keystone and a very narrow drip tree; Front façade decorated with a plastered cornice and toothed side facades. To the north, the old side shed with a brick roof (artificial slates) also dates from the 18th century; construction in whitewashed bricks with sandstone base, sandstone cornice and a band; a small interior sandstone window with a chained frame and protruding lintel; other wall openings that appeared during the transformation into a residential farm. On the same north but isolated façade, we find the old car shed with its roof (tiles), which dates from the 18th century, the left part of the three bays has a slightly higher and apparently shortened ridge; brick construction with a frieze and a diagonal redent; Five semicircular sandstone doors (three sealed) with transoms and anchored keystone.
