The NE valley wall of the Molenbeek is completely different from the one on the other side. In that case, the geomorphologists speak of an asymmetric valley. And they are always interested in that because these asymmetric valleys are usually caused by a difference in erosion. And that difference often (but not always!) has a lithological cause (different kind of substrate). The NE valley wall is still built up higher up by the spur of the village of Sint-Laureins-Berchem.
